4,125km from Sydney, 400km east of Broome and in the middle of nowhere is Fitzroy Crossing and this is where I spent my winter break. While going to the middle of nowhere, on the edge of the Great Sandy Desert, may sound like a crazy thing to do, I had an amazing experience.

I’ve been in Melbourne for 3 years undertaking my bachelor’s degree. As a Development Studies student, I always consider working in the Indigenous sector a great way to start my career; when I found about the Aurora Internship Program I didn’t hesitate to apply.
